TOURIST INFORMATION

TOURIST OFFICE

There are three Tourist offices run by Government agencies. The Government of India Tourist Office is situated at Willington island near the Malabar Hotel (Ph:668352). This office is open from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. and is closed on Sundays and Public holidays. The Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (Ph:353234) has a reception centre on Shanmugham road in Ernakulam city, one furlong away from Main boat jetty. It functions on all days from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Tourism Department has an information counter at the Cochin Airport (Ph:667874) which functions during flight hours. Tourist Desk (National and State Tourism Award Winners) free information Counter is situated at the Main Boat Jetty, near Subash Bose Park, Ernakulam Which functions from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on all days. Tourist map of Cochin, Kerala etc are available in this counter (Ph: 371761). Tourist Desk operates backwater village tour on a country boat daily.

TOURIST POLICE : Tourist police assistance cells are functioning at Fort Cochin, Cochin Airport, Ernakulam Junction railway station, near KTDC office and Mattancherry. Backwater Canal Tour: This calm, peaceful, out - of - this - world cruise which begins and ends at Kuthiyathode is a must for every visitor.
