Realizing the growing need for this service in Kerala & the potential of Kochi a the Gateway to Kerala, a group of professionals joined hands to offer hospitality in its newest form in Kochi, targeting a privileged class of holiday makers, business executives & NRI's’ to form Riverdale Holiday Homes & Apartments. Work on the project, a dream child of its Chairman Mr. P.S. Jacob, an eminent NRI based in UAE for over 25 years, started in mid 2000 & was completed on schedule in April. The other directors include professional from all walks of life ranging from professional accountants, engineers, architects, advertising experts, travel & tourism experts, to hotel industry professionals, together contributing to the Riverdale project a combined expertise & knowledge of over 100 years. The company has its registered office in Ernakulam & has ambitious growth plans for the future. After having completed the present Riverdale Serviced Apartments, the group have already laid down plans to diversify into other fields which include travel agency operations, motels, construction & complete servicing& maintenance of luxury villas exclusively for NRI’s. Under the dynamic leadership of its Chairman & its Board of Directors, Riverdale is already a name to reckon with in the hospitality industry in Kochi, truly living up to its mission statement.

Kochi ( Previously known as Cochin), is situated on the west coast of India in the beautiful state of Kerala. Kochi can be regarded as the commercial and industrial capital of Kerala. Kerala is one of the most prosperous state of India, flanked by the Arabian Sea on the western side and the Western Ghats on the eastern side. The city lies between 'Tripunithura, the seat of the erstwhile royalty to its southeast and the Eloor-Kalamassery industrial belt to its north. To the west lies is the Arabian sea. Kochi is the most important city in Kerala. Kochi is one of the most important industrial, trading and commercial centre of South India. Kochi is known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea. It is also referred to as the Gateway of South India.

By Air: Kochi International Airport situated in Nedumbassery just 20 kms away from the city is a fast developing airport of the region which is operating to many Gulf destinations and operates domestic fligts to Agatti, Bangalore, Mumbai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Goa, Madras and Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum - the capital of Kerala). Flights to other international destinations will start soon. Other international airports nearby includes Mumbai, Madras, Bangalore and Trivandrum.

By Rail: Kochi and Ernakulam are connected to the rest of India by an extensive network of rails.There are three important railway stations here namely Cochin Harbour Terminus, Ernakulam Junction and Ernakulam Town . Many important trains start from here and many others pass through these stations.

By Road: Three important National Highways (NH) pass through/start from Kochi, apart from many state roads. NH 47 from Kanyakumari to Salem pass right through the heart of Kochi while NH 17 to Mumbai and NH 49 to Madurai (in Tamilnadu) starts from Kochi. Private and public transport services are available to/from all major cities of South India from here

By Sea: Kochi has a magnificent all weather natural port. Regular boat service to places like Kottayam and Alleppey are available through the scenic backwaters of Kerala.
